Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness (Blizzard, 1995)

Warcraft II is an entertaining strategy game in which you must portray either Human or Orc forces trying to complete a number of missions, which could be as simple as escorting a person to a safe place or laying siege to an entire settlement. As the game progresses, the missions get more difficult, and you have more advancements and weapons at your disposal, but there is little other sense of build in this game. Each mission pretty much stands on its own. The biggest downside to Warcraft II is that, with very few exceptions, the Human and Orc missions are almost exactly the same. This lowers the game's replay value considerably. Other than that, though, if you are a fan of strategy games or war games, or even if you're not, you will no doubt enjoy Warcraft II.
