The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Infocom, 1984)

Infocom's second most famous title (second only to Zork), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxywas an adaptation of the Douglas Adams book of the same name. As Steve Meretzky and Adams worked together, this game is extremely funny and original, with most of the plot elements taken out of the book, but with quite a few new ideas and puzzles thrown in, though they are all in the tradition of the book. A great game to play if you like the series of books or humorous science fiction, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is somewhat difficult in places, but not discouraging, as an excellent example of some of the best of early computer games.
