In a series where gritty realism was always the order of the day, one would assume that improved graphics would enhance a Police Quest game. Unfortunately, there is little else in Police Quest III. Though the realism of some of the police procedure requied to get through the game is interesting, most of the irrelevant plot elements, shallow characterizations, and bizarre plot twists are anything but. The ending, which is completely ineffective and feels like it has little to do with the rest of the game, is an unbelievable and unrealistic addition. Chances are only longtime fans of the Police Quest series may enjoy this game, but Police Quest III is best avoided by them and everyone else.
