Using the same interface as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Secret of Monkey Island is helped out immeasurably by original and very funny material. With good graphics and sound for the time (though not as good as those in Loom), The Secret of Monkey Island told a very interesting story that has never really been attempted before, that of a young man wanting to become a pirate. Though a fairly easy game, it did have several points of interest, including the very unique combat system which did not rely on strength or sword skill at all, but rather something else (play the game and find out). Its humor and originality are good enough reasons to play The Secret of Monkey Island.
