Based on the Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, Death Gate is a superior game that shows what can be done when a company cares about making a quality product that is more than just fancy graphics or digitized voices of live actors. While Death Gate has great graphics, sound, music, and voice acting (with author Glen Dahlgren and John Dow standing out above the rest), it has a fantastic story with lots of plot twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat while playing the game. Though the game is very linearly designed, and each of the individual segments have little to do with each other in terms of puzzles, and the ending is a little weak, this was the best adventure game released in 1994 and bodes extremely well for future Legend products if they are but half as good as this.
