Codename: ICEMAN (Sierra, 1990)

Sierra's only installment in a proposed series worked out well, though the technical limitations of the time did not make it all it could have been. You played a navy officer on a quest of national importance, dealing with the oil reserves of the African country Tunisia. The adventure portions of the game weren't too difficult, with most of the problems coming from the little or no direction about what you should do (though this was a fault of most of Jim Walls' games). The submarine simulator is very interesting with many options, though there is little excitement and invention in the resulting action sequences which are always the same and nearly impossible on slower machines. This game does have a good plot, and if you enjoy military or spy movies or simulators, this is a good game for you.
